“Anne of Green Gables” is an TV anime series based on the novel by L.M. Montgomery. 50 episodes were broadcast from January 7 to December 30, 1979, on Fuji Television's ”The World Masterpiece Theater.

Directed by Isao Takahata, music by Kurodo Mori, and produced by Nippon Animation.

A re-animated version is being broadcast as “Anne Shirley” (Production: Answer Studio) from April 2025.
